UST CON CELEBRATES NURSING WEEK 2021

To start the festivities for Nursing week 2021, the UST College of Nursing faculty and students graced the 75th Nursing Week Opening Ceremony and Thanksgiving Mass held on November 17.

The Thanksgiving Mass honors the Feast of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, and the celebration of the Diamond Anniversary of the college, with the theme, "Formed by heart, Illuminating with excellence."

"Yung theme natin for the 75 years it encapsulates not just a nurse, but a Thomasian nurse. Siguro na overemphasize natin yung three values of competence, commitment, and compassion. Now 75 years, we try to highlight [how] we, as Thomasian nurses, we give light to others, [and] we illuminate other people," remarked Rev. Fr. Julius Paul Factora, Regent, UST CON.

The Nursing Network: Illuminating Brilliance across the Multiverse of the Nursing Central Board of Students kicks off virtually on November 18 and highlights an Esports tournament, a film festival, team building, and various organizational-led activities for the 4-day event.

"With various activities, everyone can pick which event they choose to attend that piques their interests. The UST-CON community will have the time to unwind and take a breather from their responsibilities as they can expect a fun-filled Nursing Week organized by the NCBS and the local college organizations," said Qer Mendoza, the NCBS Vice President.

There will be no suspension of classes for the week, but concerned professors and course facilitators encourage students' participation in various scheduled activities.
