UST CON celebrates 76th Nursing Week

The UST Nursing Community welcomed the 76th Nursing Week with a Mass and an Opening Ceremony held on November 16 and 17, respectively.

For the first time after two years since the start of the pandemic, the Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated on-site at the Santisimo Rosario Parish on Wednesday afternoon, November 16. It also honored in advance the feast day of the College’s patroness, St. Elizabeth of Hungary.

With the title “Enchantment: The Grand Nursing Week Kick-Off Celebration,” the opening ceremony was likewise participated by students and faculty members on Thursday morning, November 17.

The event featured performances at both the college and university levels. A Game Ka Na Ba segment also tested the participants’ nursing knowledge and pitted different batches against each other. Jeremiah Dimasacat of Level 4 eventually emerged as the winner.

The program marked the beginning of the three-day festivities, which is the second time that the college celebrated virtually, after last year’s online 75th Nursing Week. Anticipated events include an Esports tournament, film festival, team-building activities, webinars, and various organizational-led programs that enjoin everyone’s participation.

The theme for this year’s Nursing Week is entitled, “Exploring the World of Dreams: Looking through the Glass of Excellence.” Student organizations led by the Nursing Central Board of Students (NCBS) incorporated the magic and nostalgia of classic Disney movies in the planned activities.
