STUDENT-NURSES UNWIND, PERFORM IN T.I.E SERIES EPISODE 1

Around 50 students of the University of Santo Tomas College of Nursing joined the first episode of the T.I.E (Take It Easy, Nurse!) Series held virtually last October 7, 2021.

Organized by the Nursing Central Board of Students, the get-together aimed to provide the nursing community with an opportunity to share their talents, pause, and rejuvenate after examinations.

"A platform in which wala tayong ibang gagawin kundi magkamustahan, chikahan, kwentuhan, at kahit papano, spend an hour or two of our time to just have a quick get-away from our academics and some stressors in life," Mary Clare Dominique C. Quimson, the NCBS President, mentioned in her opening remarks.

Quimson hopes that student-nurses allow themselves to enjoy and prioritize boosting their emotional and mental state to be re-energized and ready to face their academic requirements and responsibilities.

The two-hour event had two parts. The first half—also known as 'Edify'— is where resource speakers shared their insights and experiences on the current Thomasian Nursing online education setup.

Roechen Andrea S. Mendoza, UST-CON Level 2 Batch Representative and one of the resource speakers of the event, highlighted the importance of refreshing and reminding ourselves of our "why's."

"It's okay to make a stopover, but make sure that you won't stop there. Make sure that you [still] continue your journey, at magagawa mo lang 'yon if you know your reason by heart," Mendoza mentioned.

Denzel Clarke B. Pallagud, the second resource speaker and the NCBS Deputy Chief of Staff shared snippets about his pre-pandemic campus life and memorable experiences in clinical duties.

The second half of the episode—also termed as 'Illuminate' — allowed the student participants to showcase their talents, may it be through singing, dancing, or spoken-word poetry. Performers had the option to pre-register before the program.

According to Charles Hezekiah Importante, the lead officer-in-charge and one of the Executive Coordinators to the President, the second installment of the series will occur on November 18.
