NCBS Executive Board finally complete, Legislative Board appointed

The UST College of Nursing – Commission on Elections (COMELEC), together with the Nursing Central Board of Students’ (NCBS) Executive and Legislative Boards, and UST Nursing Class Presidents from all year levels, held their first legislative assembly on Saturday, August 28, 2021.


The event was conducted primarily to elect for the vacant positions in the Executive and the Legislative Boards of the NCBS for Academic Year 2021-2022.


Pursuant to the provisions stated under Article 15 of the constitution and by-laws of the Student Government of the UST College of Nursing 2009, the Commission held special elections for the vacancies in the Executive Board from the NCBS General Elections that concluded last May 18, 2021.


The COMELEC also facilitated the elections on the appointment of the members of the NCBS Legislative Board, the legislative and quasi-judicial body of the organization.


The program started with an orientation on the constitution and by-laws. This was followed by a brief discussion on the duties and responsibilities of the officers to be elected.


The following students were elected for the vacant seats in the Executive Board: Francis Roy Gonzales of 3NUR-4 as Assistant Secretary; Janine Beverly Jurado of 3NUR-5 as Treasurer; Anjanette Marie Sumalo of 3NUR-8 as Assistant Treasurer; Troy Angelo Miguel Bisa of 3NUR-2 as Auditor; and Kyle Nicole Concio of 4NUR-2 as Public Relations Officer.For the Legislative Board, the following students were elected: Renee Kristine A. Banzon of 1NUR-2 as Speaker; Chloe L. Sacramento of 1NUR-4 as Deputy Speaker; and Andreih Jose A. Caritativo of 1NUR-1 as Secretary-General.


The elected students took their oath of office afterward. The program ended with the NCBS Advisers Lisette Navarro and Cheryleen Chua congratulating the officers and reminding them to lead by example while still prioritizing their academics.
